About This Website

Welcome to AskRheum.com. Read a little bit about us and who we are:

In 2010, we launched EdmontonRheumatology.com as a resource for patients, medical students, residents and physicians on all aspects related to rheumatology in Edmonton.

For our patients, it was an opportunity to provide accurate & trustworthy information, as well as a resource to answer those simple but at times frustrating questions: Where do I find my rheumatologist’s office? What should I do at my first appointment?

For our students, it was an opportunity to provide a one stop resource for teaching rheumatology, with salient up to date links to papers, videos, and rotation information. For ourselves, it became a place to keep forms and links to data we need to ensure we provide the best and most efficient care to our patients.

By 2014, we had over 100,000 visitors from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and all over the world. We launched an accompanying Youtube Video site, and grown the resources available, including the opportunity to be more interactive with our patients.  We expanded to AlbertaRheumatology.com, which continues to be a valued resource.

AskRheum is the next step.  It aims to provide important easy to find trustworthy information to you.  And when you can’t find what you’re looking for, just ask.  Our “Ask the Rheumatologist” feature has been and will continue to be a defining part of what we offer, and we aim to expand that with AskRheum… answering your questions about the most common symptomatic chronic disease.

AskRheum remains the of your Canadian rheumatology team.  All the information provided has been contributed and reviewed by your rheumatologists, who have been certified by the Royal College of Physician and Surgeon of Canada. So, if you are looking for information on arthritis, lupus, fibromyalgia, gout, vasculitis, and more, this website will provide you the information that is truthful and instructive.

Whether Canada or anywhere around the world, please feel free to learn and share from our website.
